Cardan Conveyor

Cardan Conveyor
The cardan conveyor is a type of conveyor, generally used in overhead conveying systems, that transmits the motion of the conveyor chain or shaft system through universal (cardan) joints. It takes its name from the cardan joint (universal joint) used to transmit motion. This system allows the chain or hanger line to run smoothly through curves and angled transitions.
Features
• Chain structure with universal joints: Provides flexing and angular movement capability on curves.
• Overhead conveying system: Loads are generally carried suspended from the ceiling.
• High conveying capacity: Can be adapted to the weight of the parts and the line speed (generally 50–250 kg/hanger).
• Low maintenance requirement: The joint system is long-lasting with lubrication.
• Turning capability: Can easily perform 90° or 180° turns.
• Modular structure: Line length, curves and inclines can be easily designed.
• Fixed or variable speed control: Speed can be adjusted according to production needs.
Functions
• Providing continuous conveying: Ensures uninterrupted transport of materials or parts along the production line.
• Operating on lines with curves: Provides flexible movement on curves and inclines where straight conveyors struggle.
• Automating the production process: Performs automatic transfer between stations such as painting, coating, assembly or the drying oven.
• Saving time and labor: Eliminates the need for manual handling.
• Precise speed control: Provides steady advancement in processes such as painting and drying.
